UN Accreditation

The year 2009-2010 was decisive for us our organization has procured accreditation from UN which was announced in the UN Conference held in New York on June. Our application for Consultative Status in UN is under consideration that we hope it will be ready for granting this year.

Activities of 2009 - 2010
Women Empowerment

Empowerment of Women aims to bring about advancement development and empowerment of women in all spheres of life. Here INF understood the need of empowering socially backward ward women and house wives of the city by unrevealing their capabilities by providing technical skill development training programmes. After these training the trainers were group to form SHGs where they can earn moderately good profit out of their skill they imbibe. This year we trained nearly 4000 beneficiaries conducted nearly 50 trainings and nearly 16 SHGs were formed and others opt for their own tenures. These training were conducted under the banner 'Vanitha Vethi' a women empowerment sister concern of INF formed last year.

Youth Empowerment

To shoe the youth the right track and keep away from malpractices we conduct several youth orientation programmes to bring of the most precious positive energy of the youth. Shalabhamela, organized by Deseeya Bala Tharangam, is aimed to do so, and this year we were he main pillar supporter for this programme. Our variety of programmes include Personality Development programmes conducted in Nedumangad on May 9th, Science and Technology Seminar, conducted in Co-operative Arts and Science College conducted on June 10th, National Technology Day and Seminar on National Integration Organized in Cotton Hill School, on Nov.14th.

Tribal Empowerment

To empowerment the least developed trials was this year's prime objective. An awareness program to make them aware of the skill development programmes is conducted on March 2010, for a man of 150 people in LP school , Bonakad a tribal Area.

Research and Development

Our Research is based in the field of medicines which is not clinical trials or pre- clinical research but a research that contributes to the development of new treatments that which can predict the disease in its earlier stages by noticing the changes in the moulds and prints in the palm in patients suffering from chronic diseases is termed as dermatoglyphics. This study aims to establish or identify any constant changes in finger prints in patients with chronic disease in comparison with a control group and to identify that the similar changes appear before the earliest sign and symptom of the disease and its work is progressing.

Indira Gandhi Research and Development Centre [IRDC]

IRDC, a new venture of INF concentrating in Research studies and development is established this year. It is inaugurated by Honb'le Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment

Sri. Mukul Vasanik on 21st August 2009. Its first project, to undertake was dermatoglyphics, dealing studies to predict the disease by identifying the change in the fingerprints and moulds of palm in patients with chronic diseases.

Rural Developmental Programmes

Our Activities also extend to the rural suburbs of the city and implement programmes for the advancement of rural programmes.

a. Skill Development Training

When implementing skill development training we give preferences to the rural masses, about 350 women from the rural areas participate in our skill developmental trainings, which took place in INF Office and they are effectively running their SHGs after enhancing their skills.

b. Goat Rearing Proposal

We presented our Goat Rearing Proposal in Social Welfare Ministry for starting a tenure for 1000 families in Goat Rearing Our Programmes is concentrated in Nedumangad of Trivandrum district. About 1000 women are planned to engage in Goat Farming.

Literacy Programmes

INF supports Government in running post literacy and continuing education programmes with the objective of total eradication of illiteracy in well defined areas. We are planning to take up areas Specifically for continuing education programmes for life- long learning.

Our literacy programmes are mainly concentrated in Backward areas of Pathanamthitta, Kasargode and Wayanad. There we organize seminars and awareness classes to boost up the need for continuing literacy programmes among the local masses.

Venture organized in Association with Government Organisations
a. Grant from Kerala Youth Welfare Board

For entrepreneurial development. We organize biweekly training in jewellery making for 120 women in June 2009, receiving grant from Kerala State Youth Welfare board and following it 3 units of 16 members of SHG were formed. One more training from KSYWB in saree designing and flower making for 100 participants has been sanctioned and is yet to be done.

b. Financial Assistance from SIDBI

For entrepreneurial development of women, a training on saree designing was conducted in January for 350 participants. The trained participants themselves grouped to form SHGs of 120 nos. drawing considerable income.

c.Grant from Kerala State Council for Science,Technology and Environment.

A one day Seminar on Networking Technology was conducted for 150 students of Co-operative Arts and Science College, Trivandrum to commemorate National Technology Day which was inaugurated by Sri. M.Vijayakumar, Honourable Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Road Safety Programmes

To make the vehicle drivers aware of the road safety rules, we. conducted two programmes in Trivandrum in which Personalities from the Transport Department delivered lectures to the heavy vehicle drivers of the city to inculcate the rules that they should follow while driving.

INF in Hospital Management

To help the poor patients in Government Hospitals INF provide in apt times immediate resource to deal the initial critical situation.

a. Palliative care

To relieve the pain and agony of the cancers, we have been supplying continuously medicines to console the pain of patients suffering from cancer in the most prominent palliatives care centre of the city. Our mission is to provide steadily all the necessary amenities required to solace the ailments of this dreadful diseases in all palliatives care units of this city without any lag.

b. Medical and Blood Donations Camps.

One medical camp, conducted on Aug.12 , in Neyyar Dam in which a resource team of doctors of 12 Nos. attended 500 poor patients , recommended treatment and medicines for their diseases. In that camp, we are able to distribute most of the medicines prescribed by the doctors, that are supplied by the kind-hearted people of the city. Like wise we are organizing medical camps in other districts of kerala. Blood donation camp which is a routine repeated this year also on Nov. 19th

c. Padheyam

A project implemented under INF to provide afternoon meals. everyday to poor people in hospitals . This daily programme is sponsored by the well wishers of this organisation who are ready to con tribute their share for the deprived.

d. Disability People

As usual, this year also we supplied medicines, wheel chairs and artificial limbs for the disabled people in the society.

Support for Poor People

This year also we supplied uniforms, note books and essentials for 150 students from poor families during school reopening season in a function held in the INF Office.

In the Onam Season of August also, as usual we distributed rice and essential commodities to nearly 150 poor families because we understood that Onam is meant for all in Kerala unaware of caste, creed, gender and is celebrated as a marking of oneness among the people.
