Indira Gandhi Research and Development Centre [ IRDC ]

IRDC, a new venture of INF concentrating in Research studies and development is established this year. It is inaugurated by Honb'le Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Sri. Mukul Vasanik on 21st August 2009. Its first project, to undertake was dermatoglyphics, dealing studies to predict the disease by identifying the change in the fingerprints and moulds of palm in patients with chronic diseases.

Vanitha Vedhi

In March 2009, INF introduced a new concern ‘Vanitha Vedhi’ aiming empowerment of women in Thiruvananthapuram. This forum of INF was started its activities on March 2009 in the INF Office. Under the label of Vanitha Vethi INF is implementing continuous training programmes for women in jewellery making, saree designing, flower making, bag making, lotion, soap and agarbathi making in the INF Office itself. The training programmes will resume in the next annual year also. About 200 SHGs are functioning effectively under this forum.

Padheyam

A project implemented under INF to provide afternoon meals everyday to poor people in hospitals. This daily programme is sponsored by the well wishers of this organisation who are ready to con tribute their share for the deprived.

Indira Gandhi National Library

This is formed to support our research activities and enhance reading habit among different sections of people

1. To Resume the Library Activities, we have forwarded a grant for improvement of library to the State Archives Dept.

2. To actively conduct the adolescent welfare programmes we have forwarded applications to seek grant – in-aid to central and State Government Ministries.

3. As a step forward, we have decided to conduct Science and Information Technology seminars of Kerala and Central Govt.

4. For the treatment and rehabilitation of alcoholics and drug abusers, INF has submitted a 15- bedded hospital project to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment In Attingal.




5. For to provide employment to socially backward women, we have submitted project to the Railway Ministry to undertake the cleaning and garbage disposal activities of the railway stations.

6.To procure JSS in various districts of Kerala, we already set projects proposals in Human Resource Ministry.

7.For conducting seminars & awareness programs for youth masses, on National Integration, we have submitted projects to the Department of Home Affairs, & Social Welfare Board, Govt. of India.

8. We are submitting project proposal for conducting seminars to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Woman & Child Department, Ministry of Tribal Affairs & Ministry of Culture.
